Public Meeting Notice
To review the Draft Municipal and Religious Reuse Overlay District Zoning Ordinance
Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 6:00 PM
City Hall Annex
98 Washington Street
First Floor Public Meeting Room
The Department of Planning and Community Development has developed an amendment to the zoning ordinance that would establish an adaptive reuse overlay district for municipal and religious uses, in response to a City Council Request. The purpose of the overlay is to make it feasible for eligible buildings to be reused and revitalized. Public input is being sought at a public meeting on October 3, 2018, at 6:00 PM.
It is anticipated the ordinance will be submitted for the City Council meeting on October 11, 2018. A joint public hearing with the City Council and Planning Board will then be scheduled which is where public testimony will be heard. Once the public hearing is closed, the Planning Board will deliberate in a subsequent meeting and make a recommendation back to the City Council. The City Council will then consider the matter.
The draft ordinance can be found under Studies and Reports at www.salem.com.
